Big data to improve fertility care, reproductive health, and long-term outcomes for women, men and children

Our national data platform on fertility and reproductive health:

  • Provides a linked data resource to support research that generates real-world evidence to improve fertility treatment, reproductive healthcare, and long-term health and wellbeing for women, men, and children.
  • Includes data on more than 40 million individuals, including all children born in New South Wales from 1994–2024 and their parents, and all women (2010–2024) and men (2020–2024) across Australia, regardless of whether they had fertility treatment, had children, or how they conceived.
  • Combines national and state data sources, linking many administrative datasets across reproductive health, hospital, medicine dispensing (PBS), Medicare (MBS), deaths, cancer, intensive care and perinatal outcomes.
  • Anchored by ANZARD, Australia's Assisted Reproduction Database, which captures all IVF treatments nationwide. FM-DATA platform integrates ANZARD with federal datasets via the National Health Data Hub (NHDH) and perinatal data from NSW Health.
