Lu graduated from the Bachelor of Performance (Honours) at the University of Wollongong in 2022, focusing on theatre direction and trans playwriting. Since graduating, they have been working in the independent theatre scene in Sydney as a writer and director. Their PhD is investigating the potential for a trans theatrical form.
