Dry Eye Disease: Diagnosis and Management Short Course

25 August – 26 September 2025 | Online | 30 hours over 5 weeks

Dry eye disease is one of the most common and complex ocular conditions encountered in clinical practice. This short course is designed to equip participants with the confidence and expertise to accurately diagnose dry eye disease and distinguish it from similar conditions such as blepharitis, neuropathic ocular pain, and neurotrophic disorders.

Led by our award-winning educator, Professor Isabelle Jalbert with Dr Regine Chapman-Davis (Optometrist), the course will explore the anatomy and physiology of the ocular surface and tear film, delve into the epidemiology and risk factors - including iatrogenic causes - and learn to apply diagnostic algorithms and clinical tools effectively. The course also covers a comprehensive range of management strategies, both therapeutic and non-therapeutic, ensuring clinicians are well-prepared to tailor treatment plans to individual patient needs.

Through a combination of self-paced learning and interactive sessions, this course is ideal for optometrists, ophthalmologists, and other eye care professionals seeking to enhance their diagnostic acumen and treatment outcomes.

On completion, participants will earn 30 (T-endorsed) including 5 interactive CPD hours, which is the full requirement for a one-year cycle, as well as 3 credits towards the Â鶹Éçmadou Executive Certificate in Health (FMECH).  The course is recognised in both Australia and New Zealand.

Supported by Gold Sponsors Alcon and Melcare Biomedical Pty Ltd, this course reflects Â鶹Éçmadou’s commitment to excellence in continuing professional development.
