Dr Ashwin Unnikrishnan
I am a biomedical research scientist and Head of the Molecular Mechanisms in Leukaemia laboratory (/medicine-health/our-schools/clinical-medicine/research-impact/research-groups/cancer/molecular-mechanisms-leukaemia-lab) in the School of Clinical Medicine, Faculty of Medicine and Health at the University of New South Wales. I am also the inaugural recipient of the Breakthrough Fellowship from the Leukaemia Foundation and Tour de Cure.
My lab uses a combination of genomics, epigenomics, molecular biology and stem cell biology techniques to understand the mechanisms driving leukaemia, as well as those underpinning resistance to therapy. Our research interests are strongly geared towards translational medical outcomes.ÌýWe are always looking for talented, motivated scientists and students, so please get in touch (Twitter/LinkedIn/email) if you are interested in discussing opportunities in my lab.
In addition, I am a founding member and the current co-Chair for the School of Clinical Medicine'sÌýEarly- and Mid-Career Professional, Clinical, and Academic Researchers Network (https://www.unsw.to/empcar-network), through which we are aiming to empower and advocate for the School's early-/mid-career members.
