We offer specialised equipment for designing, prototyping, and testing electronic and medical devices, including PCB manufacture, microfluidic production, and laser micromanufacturing. Our labs also support medical device validation with tools like oscilloscopes and climate chambers. For cardiovascular research, we provide systems for circulatory models and assistive devices, along with surgical robots, endoscopes, and imaging technologies for developing surgical procedures.
Electronics and Prototyping
Our cutting-edge laboratories are equipped with specialised equipment for the design, prototyping, and testing of electronic components and their encapsulation and packaging. This includes facilities for laser micromanufacturing including welding and patterning, flip-chip bonding, and ASIC design and testing. Our general dry electronics area supports PCB manufacture and soldering, ensuring comprehensive development capabilities for various electronic devices. We also have facilities for manufacturing microfluidics including an automated heated press for moulding and bonding plastic microfluidic devices.
Characterisation and Validation
We offer an extensive range of tools for the characterisation and validation of medical devices. This includes specialised oscilloscopes, climate chamber testing, hermeticity testing, mini lathes, and various microscopes, laser profilometry, and manufacturing tools. Our clean room provides a controlled environment essential for the development of sensitive components and for medical implant assembly.

Cardiovascular Systems Testing
Our laboratories are at the forefront of cardiovascular research with facilities for mock circulatory/cardiac loops and Langendorff rigs suitable for both small and large hearts. We also offer assistive devices for benchtop, wearable, and implantable applications. The heart valve accelerated wear tester and ultrasonic flow meter systems are among the advanced tools for cardiovascular device testing.

Surgical and Diagnostic Equipment
Our facilities are equipped with the latest in surgical and diagnostic technology, including surgical robots, flexible endoscopes (colonoscope, bronchoscope), flexible milliscope, high precision linear stages, and an Advanced Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) imaging system. These tools support the development and testing of surgical procedures and devices.
